Bittrich’s “HOME OF THE GREAT PECAN” part of this season at Chester Theatre Group — April 26th – May 12th, 2019

My full-length Texas farce, Home of the Great Pecan will be presented this season at Chester Theatre Group in Chester, New Jersey. I’m honored to be part of a season which also included King Lear and The Bald Soprano.

The dates are April 26th through May 12th, 2019. Looks like they are doing the play with 7 actors. It’s a very unique play in that it can be done with as few as 4 actors playing about 20 parts… or as many as 20 actors (though a few are voiceover roles).

If you’d like to find out more about the play and even read the first scene, go to the Home of the Great Pecan website. There are also some really fun photos there from productions that have been done around the country.

A little history about the play… it started as a stand-alone 10-minute play entitled Brain Sucking, which was produced at Actor’s Theater of Louisville years ago, and subsequently published in Dramatics Magazine.

To license the full-length Texas comedy, Home of the Great Pecan (by Stephen Bittrich) which has been described as Great Tuna meets Plan Nine from Outer Space, go to Broadway Play Publishing.
